Port Otago
Transportation and Logistics

Port Otago is a major export hub of the lower South Island, providing a full range of port related services from its Port Chalmers and Dunedin facilities. The business is solid, has a safety-focused, practical culture and offers growth opportunities for people wanting to progress.

As a Cargo Handler your primary role is operating heavy machinery, transporting containers around our yard plus other duties in Port Chalmers and Dunedin. We are looking for women and men who are comfortable working outside in all weather conditions, at heights and can balance shift work with their lifestyle.

Previous experience operating heavy machinery will be highly regarded although this is not essential as full training will be provided for women and men who are enthusiastic about beginning a career in the logistics industry. Shortlisted applicants will be taken through a computer-based assessment initially to see if you have got what it takes to operate heavy machinery.

While the port industry has traditionally attracted men, times are changing. We strongly encourage women to apply and investigate this opportunity.
